Adventure theme/name: Finding a wizard in a Telflamm, needle in a haystack? Or Where’s Milo?
The group has decided that the Shadowrift in Tammar needs to be closed. Their only lead is the satyr’s mention that he knew of a wizard that traveled with Victor back in his adventuring days that had become something of an expert on rifts, portals, and the planes. His name is Milo. Last time he had been heard of he was making a name for himself in Telflamm, the largest city in Thesk.
Meanwhile, since the death of his parents, Slang has seemed a bit down, and as the party packs their things up to head to Telflamm, he decides that he is going to stay and help the satyr with maintaining the crystals. Seems that though his dad was a bit ‘misguided’ Slang doesn’t want to let his and his mother’s sacrifice go to waste. In actuality, Slang’s player (Pete) is not really feeling much of a connection with Slang, so he is going to try out a shaman instead.
It is Memorial Day weekend, but so far no one has told me they are NOT going to be at the game, so I’m hopeful that we will have a full crew for thier adventures in Telflamm. Speaking of which, public knowledge of Telflamm is as follows (you can assume that all characters know at least this much, especially since you have all been through the city):
Telflamm:
- Population is composed of Damaran/Rashamen mixed heritage humans, Shou (chinese like Kara-tur types) humans, some Mulani human (mostly from Thay), Orcs (brought by Zhentil Keep to fight the Tuigan Horde long ago, then abandoned, now incorporated into the society), half-orcs, and a smattering of the other races like any metropolitan realms city
- The city is ruled by the Merchant Council. Many claim they are puppets for the infamous Shadowmaster thieves guild. This is disputed by others.
- The city is composed of four districts, arranged clockwise around the harbor (which opens to the southeast) Overlook, Central, North, and Shou Town.
- There are three main temples in town, Waukeen, Shaundakul, and Tyr.
- The town has two major fortress/castles: Castle Balindre, the home of the head of the Merchant Council (no longer of the Balindre family) and Merchants’ Fortress the council’s base of operations.
- There is a Red Wizard Enclave. Note, they are no longer called the Red Wizards of Thay. While most of them come from Thay, after Tamm’s slaughter of most other Red Wizards, the enclaves all claimed independence and still serve as hubs of magic and mercantilism in the various cities they are in. Some people claim they are still under the thumb of Szass Tamm.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the game.
